What We Believe: The Apostolic Doctrine
1. We believe that the bible has been inspired by God, and is the complete and infallible word of God. (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:20; Revelation 22:18-19)
2. We believe there is one God, without beginning and without end. (Revelation 1:8; Micah 5:2)
3. We believe that Jesus Christ is God in the flesh. He was born of a virgin. He lived a sinless life. He died on the cross in the place of the sinner, and his shed blood is the atonement for our sins.
(John 8:46, 20:28; Isaiah 9:6-7, 7:14; Hebrews 1:1-8, 7:26; Matthew 1:23; 1 John 2:2; II Corinthians 5:21; Ephesians 2:13-20)
4. We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the believer is empowered to live a Godly life in spiritual unity with Jesus Christ.
(John 1:33, 14:23; Acts 8:16-17; Romans 8:2-17; I Corinthians 3:16, 12:13; 1 John 2:6)
5. We believe that God now commands all men to repent and be baptized, and that immersion is the scriptural mode of water baptism. Baptism is something that should only be administered to those who have believed and have been converted by Christ himself, and have indeed said “No” to sin, and have experienced a spiritual rebirth.
(Matthew 28:19-20; John 3:3; Acts 2:38, 3:19, 26:20; Romans 6:1-13; II Corinthians 5:17)
6. We believe that a veil or head covering should be worn by sisters in the Lord during public prayer and worship; as a symbol of their submission according to God’s order of worship
(I Corinthians 11:1-6)
7. We believe abstaining from filthiness of the flesh including fornication, gambling, etc. We use no alcohol, wine, or strong drink for the purpose of intoxication, nor do we use tobacco for smoking, chewing, etc. We also do not condone any type of illegal activity.(Ephesians 5:3-5)
8. We believe in spirit filled worship. We lift our hands in praise, we sing with all of our hearts, and we play musical instruments. We clap, shout, and dance unto the Lord. We testify publically, and pray together aloud. We anoint each other with oil for divine healing and allow the operation of spiritual gifts.
(Psalms 22:22, 47:1, 98:4, 134:2, 150:4; 2 Samuel 6:5; Acts 4:24; James 5:14; I Corinthians 14:26)
9. We believe in the bodily resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ to the right hand of God, and that He will make a personal return to earth in power and glory!
(I Corinthians 15:4-8; Matthew 25:31; Acts 1:9-11)
10. We believe that a sinner gains access to salvation by repentance toward God and faith in Jesus Christ.(Acts 2:38, 20:21; Romans 10:8-13; Hebrews 7:25)
“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
